What the service offers:

Gapfillers is an online learning hub where you can develop your own language skills at your own pace. When time is limited spend just 15 minutes a day. When you have more time spend longer.

a dynamic learning environment for effective language study!

Who is it for:

Gapfillers is for people who need languages for their work;
Gapfillers is for those who already have a good level of language but want to develop their skills further or who simply enjoy using and practising language skills;
Gapfillers can sit alongside other courses as extra practice or stand alone as self study.

What does it deliver:

one new word everyday plus an archive of other vocabulary organised into 'families'. Much of the vocabulary will be work-related and idiomatic. This is available as an SMS message;
one grammar exercise everyday (plus an archive) of grammar problems faced by more advanced students;
Two readings every week. These are taken from real life and are not adapted. The questions will be challenging and varied (plus an archive). Topics will range from current affairs to literature;
One listening exercise per week, again from real life with real people (plus archive);
The listening can be downloaded as a podcast;
The chance to write your own blog;
A message board for discussion threads and language questions;
a chat room (some will be hosted by an RLI tutor) to exchange views and interact with other language learners;
you will get an alert every time something new appears on the site.
