The harbour at Whitby - the seaside |
|
Many teenagers come to the UK for English courses every summer.
-
Many of them want to have a holiday
-
Most of them want to have fun
-
Some of them want to meet new friends
-
Lots of them want to visit the UK and especially London
-
They all hope to improve their English a little
I know that YOU are a little different, Your wish list is opposite to the one above - making progress with your English is your top priority - even though some of the other things may be important too.
Because that is the case then YOU need a programme where you will have every opportunity to improve your English skills and that means more focused instruction, smaller groups and the chance to use your English extensively during your stay.

Relaxing and studying in the garden |
Lessons every morning

Whether you need your English skills to:
-
Get into an English speaking university when you finish school
-
Take an exam like the IELTS or Cambridge Advanced
-
Get a better English grade in your high school exams
-
Or simply improve your skills for the future
Here on a short summer English for teenagers programme at Fleetham Lodge the emphasis will be on YOUR learning and improvement in language skills.
Of course we won't be spending all day every day at a desk! It is important to get out and about and use the English that you are learning - this is the best way for you to retain and remember it so there will be lots of visits and activities where you can use your English with people around to support you.
On 'Summer English for Teenagers' you will be one of just 4 students so it will be easy for you to get all the help you need from your teacher. You will also have lots of opportunity to speak, listen, read and write with great feedback on everything you do.
Another advantage of being in a small group is that we can arrange visits where we know you will have to use your English and we will make sure that there are plenty of opportunities for you to do this.
The accommodation is comfortable - all double rooms with TV, desk and sofa. We will take all our meals together where we will discuss the day together and in the evenings you can watch movies, play tennis or croquet if it is fine or go on cycle rides or take walks with the dogs.
For our cultural visits there are lots of things to see and do. There are many historical places to visit as well as National Parks and small Theme Parks and f course the English seaside! We will include a good mix of all of these in the afternoon and evening visits.
We believe that the best way to learn and improve is to study and then use your new skills so we keep you very busy while you are here. We hope to return you to your parents full of good English skills, good memories of a wonderful experience and also buzzing with anticipation at using your great new English at home!
