Since its formation in 1995, RLI Language Services has provided quality language training to many companies and individuals both here in the UK and visiting from overseas.

We love languages and the feeling you get when you can communicate well in another tongue and wanted other people to have that same feeling.

Our mission is to deliver language training that is effective, measurable and targeted but also interesting and fun. We want RLI students to make real progress using real language.

We also appreciate that in today's world time is very precious indeed.This is why we come to you, why we try to be as flexible as we can in the timing of lessons and why we have now developed GAPFILLERS, our 'Language on the Go' package - delivering practice to you wherever you are.

I started my career as an English Language teacher in September 1977 in Medan Indonesia. I taught at the University of North Sumatra where it was my job to develop the English language skills of university lecturers to enable them to travel to the UK, US and Australia for further training in their own subject areas.

Since then I have worked in various institutions both overseas and in the UK helping students to improve their English language skills for work, study, travel or fun.

My specialist areas include English for Business and English for Medicine. I taught at the English for Overseas Doctors department at Southwark College in London for 6 years and have continued to work with doctors preparing them for the IELTS exam or for work here in the UK.

I am very interested in helping students find ways to continue developing their English language skills when their work gives little time for lessons or extended study. This interest was behind the development of Gapfillers which provides short and effective language practice covering a wide range of topics.

It is also at the heart of the immersion on our Home Tuition courses. Students are exposed to a huge amount of language in a very short space of time and this can really boost their skills.

I have also trained teachers and helped them with their professional development, which is something we continue to do at RLI.

I have been an examiner of English language too so I know what examiners are looking for in a student's work.

I want to use my years of experience and that of RLI tutors to provide a successful service to all RLI students and help them to achieve their language goals whatever they may be.

I believe that if students are engaged and interested in their learning they will make good progress. We try, always to stretch students by giving them challenging material in their lessons.

With RLI you will work hard but we will make it as enjoyable as possible!
